Niki Beattie
Chair
Niki is a strategic expert in financial market structure with more than 30 years of experience working across technological and regulatory change in capital markets. She has built considerable corporate governance experience at both listed and private financial market infrastructure and financial technology companies.
Benjamin Santos-Stephens
CEO
Entrepreneur and finance executive: Non-Executive Director at Digital Asset Fintech Globalcap and Managing Director at Laser Digital, Nomura’s Digital Asset trading business. Formerly Global Head of Product Management at Instinet responsible for strategy & business development across Digital Assets, trading, post-trade, clearing and analytics.
Eric Dorré
COO
Experienced GM with a track-record scaling globally regulated high-volume, high-uptime businesses. Eric led Virtu and DRW’s predecessors into Europe and APAC. His operational and business development work has led to several successful exits. Eric leads his own financial services consulting practice, serves as a non-exec to FinTechs in Europe.
Robert Karlsson
CTO
Head of Technology at Laser Digital, Nomura’s Digital Asset business. Experience as CTO at proprietary trading firm growing technology from inception to support a leading futures market maker. Rob has deep experience in crypto trading, distributed cloud systems, infosec, market data, high volume systems.
Steve Briscoe
CIO
Technology and Operations specialist with over 25 years of experience building, deploying and operating software in banks and market infrastructure in London, Tokyo, New York and Sydney. Delivered large scale system replacements and digitisation projects to enable business growth. Previously a Managing Director at UBS and RBS, Group CIO of the London Clearing House and an Executive General Manager at CBA.
Nick Hallett
Risk Officer
Former Barclays Managing Director, Nick has an extensive knowledge of clearing default and risk management having been a member of Default Management Groups and the Risk Committee for the London Clearing House. His background covers 25 years of experience in derivatives risk and market making combined with liquidity and capital optimization.
Clare Weaver
Legal & Regulatory
Previously interim CLO of Laser Digital and Counsel for Nomura’s Digital Office responsible for Nomura’s digital asset business, DLT and DeFi/Web3 VC investments, Clare has extensive experience in regulatory change projects, strategic reorganisations and corporate and commercial legal affairs.
Akash Sharma
Policy & Regulatory Affairs
Akash joins us from the Bank of England where he jointly led the Post-Trade Innovation team creating the Digital Securities Sandbox. Prior to the Bank of England, Akash worked at HM Treasury on a series of high-profile policy roles including financial sanctions, post-Brexit trade policy and the Covid-19 Response team. Akash has a Masters in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and has completed the Chartered Blockchain Analyst I qualification.
John Bratowicz
Head of Compliance
Former head of compliance and MLRO at Digital Asset custodial technology provider Copper, John previously spent five years at systemically important global foreign exchange clearing bank CLS as an advisory and core compliance and risk officer.
Andrew Dodsworth
Head of Clearing Operations
Andrew has more than 25 years' experience within the FMI space, starting with LIFFE, followed by LME and most recently the Dubai Gold and Commodity Exchange and Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation. During that time, Andrew has experienced the transition from open outcry to electronic trading, and the subsequent development of both technology and regulation that has accompanied the growth of exchange-traded derivatives.
Malcolm Rarity
Operations Manager
Malcolm has more than 30 years’ experience in Financial Markets, commencing as a FX trader at top-tier US banks, before becoming an early pioneer of electronic FX at ING Group and then Bank of America. His career evolved to include global FM programme management roles at each of Lloyds Banking Group and Standard Chartered Bank. He transitioned into digital assets at Standard Chartered and continues to remain at the forefront of financial market evolution.
Oliver Margolis
Head of Product
Oliver Margolis is Head of Product at ClearToken. He has a background in delivering solutions at the nexus of traditional finance and digital assets, having been Head of Product and Head of Partnerships at Elwood, Head of Product at the Workshop and one of the first members of J.P. Morgan’s Blockchain Centre of Excellence.
Toby Thwaites
Product Manager
Toby Thwaites is a Product Manager at ClearToken. He has a background in delivering trading, post-trade, and custody solutions at the nexus of traditional finance and digital assets, having operated in a product capacity at Axoni, NYDIG, and Copper. Toby brings a wealth of experience in distributed ledger technology and digital assets with a focus on traditional capital markets.
Peter Best
Partner Manager
Peter has spent most of his career at the inter-dealer broker, ICAP, working his way through many roles: Swaps Broker, Product Manager, Business Manager, Head of Market Development, COO and Head of Strategy. Along the way, he spent three years as head of FICC Product Development at NYSE Liffe and more recently ran at startup dedicated to facilitating institutional access to restricted currencies.
Rajeev Chopra
Partner Manager
Experienced independent consultant working with Financial Services clients including Investment Banks, Exchanges and Insurers. An expert Program Manager specializing in complex multi-workstream projects, especially within Securities and Derivatives clearing impacted by regulatory change (e.g. MiFIR, EMIR).
